The FrontEdge Pricing program simplifies front end management by providing a guide to approximately 13,000 consumer products representing about 90% of pharmacy sales nationwide. The program recommends retail prices that communicate a “fair price” to consumers, based on competition in your local market, by assigning your pharmacy to one of five competitive zones.

How does my store utilize the FrontEdge Pricing program most effectively?
It recommends retail pricing, based on comparison-shopping research, helps your pharmacy maintain competitive pricing on price-sensitive, “everyday” products and earn higher margins on unique or less-sensitive products and Health Mart private-brand products.To maximize the value of the pricing program it is critical to make sure that every product in the front end of the store has a shelf label reflecting accurate price information. Assign a responsible store employee to change retail prices on a consistent basis every week. For example, if applicable, the employee would update shelf labels with prices along with price stickers every Tuesday or Wednesday.

NOTE: You are not automatically enrolled in this portion of the FrontEdge program. Existing stores should contact your Retail Sales Manager to enroll. Beginning April 2016 new stores to the franchise will default to a retail zone during the on-boarding process.

Merchandising Visits
We tie our front-end programs together and ensure success with monthly visits by our merchandiser. They come visit monthly and assist you in marketing your front end to your customers. This saves you time and allows your staff to work on other important tasks.
If you selected the BASIC PLUS FEE ($350), your coverage in this program is automatic. If you are not enrolled and are interested in learning more, contact your Retail Sales Manager.
NOTE: If you were a Health Mart prior to 8-1-15 and pay less than $350 you were grandfathered in; however, when you renew your contract, you will have to pay $350 if you want to keep the service.
Merchandisers pre-call the store monthly to a schedule the visit for the month to assist you in merchandising your front end. This will save you some time and allow your staff to work on other important tasks.
