Placing Orders

1. Identify Your Needs

Ensure all Rx items are stocked at existing order to level (OTL) and reorder points (ROP).

Notice how your OTL or ROP change when you pull an item from the shelf to fill a prescription.

Assign the order process to one or more individuals who have the responsibility to ensure consistency.

Walk the shelves in a systematic pattern and scan the item needed. If you are using the OTL method you will insert the quantity desired. If you are using the ROP method the system will calculate the amount for you.

Prepare the order via PO Prepare using McKesson Connect.

2. Now, Transmit Your Order. PO PREPARE Will:

Ensure that you have selected the right product for the best contracted price (e.g. One Stop).

Ensure product availability.

Validate desired quantity and product ordered.

Identify any scheduled narcotic threshold concerns.
