Set, Measure and Celebrate

Team Work

Owner- and team-engagement throughout the med sync adoption process has been the key to many pharmacies’ success. The most important thing is to come together as a team, listen and support each other throughout the first 90-days post-implementation. Many barriers can be solved together and, remember, as you solve one barrier a new one might emerge. Keep those lines of communication open, stay engaged and celebrate as a team when you reach your goals.

We recommend out of the gate setting a long-term, 90-day post-implementation goal. This goal tends to be a target based on not just enrolling patients but ensuring you are also syncing your med sync patients each month, including the live 5-day prep call to review med lists and confirm pickup dates. We recommend starting out by enrolling 1-2 patients per day (good targets are those patients on 2-5 maintenance meds) and reaching 100 patients enrolled and synced by the 90-day mark.

Remember, team members should be

  • Recruiting patients daily;
  • Enrolling patients at designated times and locations in the pharmacy; and,
  • Syncing enrolled patients each month, including making a 5-day pre-call to review the patients’ med list and pickup date.

Track your progress against your 90-day goal on the Goal Setting Poster. Located to your right, under Related Documents, this poster is easily downloadable and ready to hang in your pharmacy. Additionally, set achievable, short-term goals (e.g. 7-, 14-, 30-, and 60-days post-implementation) that you can celebrate as a team along the way. If short terms goals are not being met, identify the barriers and brainstorm solutions as a team. And, don’t forget to celebrate as a team!
