Shelf Labels

Health Mart best practice recommends that you use the "retail price" version to effectively communicate your competitive prices to consumers as they shop and easily decide on item purchases displayed on your shelves. The retail version includes weekly updates for retail changes. Contact your RSM or Health Mart Franchise Manager for questions and pricing. Also available but not recommended are Fine Line Shelf Labels "without pricing".

  1. Item Description: McKesson item description
  2. UPC: Universal product code (11)
  3. Econo: McKesson item number
  4. Rank: Quick read “A”, “B” or “C” item ranking that identifies Top Selling items within each sub-category product grouping. Ranking is based on Nielsen Drug Channel and McKesson independent pharmacy sales. A & B items are stocked in all Distribution Centers; (C, G & P) are available at select Distribution Centers based on customer demand.

    A Item - Top 50% cumulative sales of respective sub-category product group
    Recommended for ALL size Pharmacies and “never out” shelf quantity
    B Item - Next 30% cumulative sales of respective sub-category product group
    Recommended for 'medium' to 'large' size Pharmacies
    C Item - Bottom 20% cumulative sales of respective sub-category product group
    Unique/niche and extended mix items
    G Item - Generic OTC
    P Item - Promotional item (in and out)

  5. CAT: Category code Fine Line department product group number
  6. SUB: Sub category code Fine Line sub department group number
  7. Note: Special product information:

    FSA Y - SIGIS- Flexible spending account eligible item
    PROMO - Promotional in and out item
    PREPAK - Pre-pack display or shipper
    GENERC - Generic item (per MCK Category Manager)
    MDSURG - Medical surgical / institutional specialty item

  8. Encoded cost: Encoded item cost specific to customer account
  9. UOM: Unit-Of-Measure code

    EA = each
    CT = carton
    CS = case
    BX = box

  10. MOQ: Minimum Order Quantity
  11. MICA: Management Inventory Control Analysis code
  12. Date: Date shelf label was printed
  13. Retail: Customer's retail price (Blank if not applicable)

    Note: Display of "retail price" can be turned "ON" or "OFF."
    When retail is displayed "on"; the customer will be sent weekly updated shelf labels for products where the cost, retail or item information has changed since previous week.
