Tools for Inventory Management

1. The McKesson Reports & Analysis Tool provides reports that calculate your usage and purchases, allowing you to improve your pharmacy's online reporting capabilities and more effectively manage your inventory.

NOTE:  These reports are based only on purchase history located in Reports & Analysis. They should be used to support the information retrieved from your pharmacy management system to provide historical purchase trend information.

REPORT ANALYSIS TOOL CAPABILITIES THE DETAILS
Purchase Drill-Down
  • Access to pre-defined data overviews of purchases across a 13-month period.
  • Allows you to view purchases from a prior 13-month period to see seasonal influences and assist you in making bulk or promotional buying decisions.
Customizable Purchasing Detail
  • Access to up to 28 months of data that allow you to corroborate seasonal trends and assist you in making educated decisions about purchases for seasonally influenced items.
Obsolete Inventory
  • Identifies items that have been purchased in the past but not in quite some time (you define the time frame).
  • Allows you to identify items that you may wish to remove from your shelves as obsolete.
High-Frequency Items
  • Provides you the ability to identify items that you may be purchasing with too high a frequency relative to the expected frequency for the item category, creating an inefficient use of time and energy.
 
 

2. The Pharmacy Management System and Item Dispensing Usage Reports can break down your dispensing history by drug class, seasonal usage or specific date range.

NOTE:  Contact your system vendor for directions on running these usage reports.
